When we heard mass at this mall’s chapel, the mall was decorated with chinese lanterns and I just can’t help but take a picture of it..

And their chinese food bazaar is just sumptuous..I had to line up just to buy these authentic chinese lumpia…but it’s definitely worth the wait…

And there was this jeepney that says…

and these crowd who can’t get enough food tripin”…

and so now that the year of the rabbit has hopped on, my student gave me tikoy and our preschool directress gave us ampaw..let’s work hard so we could be continuously blessed…

Sach

One time I gave her something to work on, and she gladly obliged, was a bit serious with what she’s doing, I was quite busy with something when she suddenly said: “Teacher, why the aircon say MMMMM?” referring to  the room’s aircon which was not the quiet series..lol..her lips were twisted when she said that..I was laughing out loud when I heard her say those words…

And when I asked her where she went during the weekend she said “I go play” .She further told me she played with her cousin..I said what’s your cousin’s name? she said “Ah-Kuya Renzo..” I asked again, where does Kuya Renzo live? she said “very far”…

Her sessions with me is at 12 noon and I’d usually ask her..”Sach did you have lunch already? She’d say, “yes“..then I ask again, “what’s your lunch?” She replied “uhm, bhed”..I didn’t understand what she said until she told me again “bhed and peanut butter”…Oh, so she had bread and peanut butter…That’s what she meant..hahahaha…

And when she likes to play more than study, I just had to make my voice a bit stern and say “Sach, you have to do your work already” and she would hurriedly run to her desk and say ” Ok, teacher Mel”.….smiling and pronouncing letter L as if her tongue curled up saying my name and I’m sold!

Although you’re not their mother,

You care for them each day

You cuddle, sing, and read to them

And watch them as they play.

You see each new accomplishment

You help them grow and learn

You understand their language

And you listen with concern.

They come to you for comfort

And you kiss away their tears

They proudly show their work to you

When children come home at the end of the day,

The question they’re asked as they scurry to play

Perhaps nothing means that I played with blocks,

Or counted to ten, or sorted some rocks.

Maybe I painted a picture of red and blue

Or heard a story of a mouse that flew.

Maybe I watched the gerbils eat today,

Or went outside on the swings to play.

Maybe today was the very first time

That my scissors followed a very straight line

Maybe I lead a song from beginning to end,

Or played with a special brand new friend.

When you’re in pre-school

And your heart has wings,

“Nothing” can mean so many things!!

A few hours after that, our program coordinator sent me a message asking me if I can handle a grade one student for tutorial sessions which would start on Monday…Wow, this is such a pleasant surprise and i came at a time when I so needed additional student…Looking forward to meeting my new student on Monday…

I thanked the friends who reacted and showed support but I was not too ready to tell my co-tutor why I seem to lose my grip. Well, it was one of those low days, when it felt like everything seems so wrong, there was no tutorial schedule for the first two weeks of january and someone who promised she would help me with my canada application has gone blurry. All these plus all the bills to pay made me sulk… Oh well, things are a bit better now…
